A Note from Pastor Larry
Dear Leaders:
2012... the year of GREAT NEW THINGS.
I wanted to write this note for February because I wanted to let you guys in on what is happening around the House both naturally and super naturally. As you have probably noticed, we have some newer faces showing up more and more on a regular basis and although I know that you have received several emails from others on Staff, I wanted you to hear from me about some of the changes/shifts/additions that are happening around DH.
As you know, on January 8th we started PRAXIS ACADEMY, our own unique ministry school that focuses on the Holy Spirit, as well as biblical doctrine/teaching. Also beginning in January, I have jumped back into a more hands on role at Destiny House, not that I wasn't aware/involved with things at DH over the last couple of years, but now I am even more focused on the day to day running of DH. This is good news because it means that you and I will be in clearer and more direct communication that we have been in the past. It also means that I am able to start paying closer attention to how the church is growing, expanding and moving forward or otherwise being challenged.
I am excited for this coming 2012 year because God has been showing me things that He has planned for His body (as a whole) and our church (specifically), and let me just say that we all need to hold on tight to Him and His word because it's going to be a fun/bumpy/challenging/fruitful/amazing ride! I wanted to point out a couple of things to you that I would like you to be agreeing in prayer with me, Deb and the Pastoral Team at DH about: 1. Music/Worship Team - currently we are re-constructing/re-imagining the way that we do worship at DH, we are also seeking out the RIGHT person to lead this ministry into 2012 and beyond 2. Video/Visual Creativity - it is my desire to match the creativity that God gives me for the messages that I bring to DH in a visual capacity again, helping the people who come to church to not only get an audible dose of what God is saying to them, but equally in a visual way as well. So getting the RIGHT person to lead this area is something I am currently praying about and seeking out as well. I would appreciate your prayer participation in these areas and mixed with God's faithfulness, I am confident that both needs will be met soon. Amen.
I want to make sure that you all are aware of the DH current staff members and what their functions are etc... Recently we have added Alea Walker to the team as our new Destiny House Administrative Director. Alea is a brilliant young woman with a brilliant heart and mind, who will be handling all of the DH Admin stuff (this includes you and your area of ministry). She is the NEW 'go to' girl for questions, appointments, event requests etc... The lovely and faithful Terrie May is still as strong as ever as she is now freed up to focus on her area of expertise as the Destiny House Financial Manager, she is the 'go to' girl for all things related to finances, payments, credit cards, etc... I am also 'back in the office' during the week for both Praxis and Destiny House, so if you need to talk or pray about something, call up the office and find out what time I will be in and Alea will make it happen!
You guys are the BEST. I truly/deeply mean that. You are all faithful to the bone to both God and His people. You are all incredibly capable of handling the challenges with class/wisdom/grace and I am so proud of each and every one of you. This is going to be a MEMORABLE year for us all and I invite you to continue holding Destiny House, the staff, pastors, myself and Debbie and the people up in your prayers, just as I do. I love you ALL! Shalom.
